Fishermen’s Fortress „Komuna“ (Komiža)

The fortress “Komuna” in Komiža is unique in Croatia in that its existence is due to a joint undertaking of Komiža fishermen. In order to build it, the Komižan fishermen introduced a taxation on fishing at the most fruitful fishing spot – the bay Trešjavac, to the south of the island of Biševo.
