Historical core of town Trogir

Historical core of town Trogir
Trogir is an excellent example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement originates from the Hellenic era – consecutive rulers continued to decorate it with exceptional public and residential buildings and forts. Its beautiful roman churches are supplemented with exceptional renaissance and baroque buildings. The most significant building is the Trogir Cathedral with its west portal, a masterpiece by Radovan and the most significant example of roman and gothic art in Croatia.

The small historic town, almost in the center of the lenght of the Croatian Adriatic coast”

n 2004 year, we (my wife and I) have visited the very nice historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast, in Split - Dalmatia County, Croatia. In fact, this town is located between the Split on the southeast and Sibenik, on the northwest. These two mentioned cities are among the most important ones on the whole Croatian sea coast.
That year, we have spent our vacation in small seaside touristic place, called Primosten, not far from Trogir, and all going to the northwest from it, toward the Sibenik.
The Trogir, itself, or more strictly said, its old part is situated on the small islet, between the Croatian mainland and the island of Ciovo. We've seen the historic centre of Trogir , which is include in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
