Barban

Barban
Barban is a picturesque medieval acropolis-style village in Istria. It has a rich history and had many different rulers in the past: the Habsburgs, the Venetians, and the French. Many traces of its past can be found in cultural monuments and numerous interesting sites. Well preserved buildings from the Baroque and Gothic periods, frescos and Glagolitic documents, four churches, palaces and town walls, as well as the Knights game “Trka na prstenac” make Barban an extremely attractive destination for all those who love cultural and historical heritage.

Visit the Galavani park!!

The best place to visit in Barban is definetely the Galavani park. What a fantastic place to visit. We decided to have a day away from the beach and this was the perfect choice. As soon as we pulled up and got out of the park we were met by Nigel, one of the founders. Before we knew it we were harnessed and in the practice games suspended above the ground and loving it. We spent literally the whole day there. We spent hours on the games which are so well put together and can be very challenging in places. The giant swing is a must!! It was great value for money for a full day activities, lunch and drinks or a family of 4 was about 600kn. Nigel was a great host, introducing us to his rabbits, hens, dogs and goats. We spent a happy hour in the cargo net with a beer whilst Nigel told us how he had ended up in Istria.
