Cres (island)
Cres, along with Krk, is the largest Adriatic island, and a real challenge for nature lovers because it is a treasure trove of plant and animal life, with an exceptionally large number of endemic species. Cres is also host to one of the last habitats of a very rare bird - the griffon vulture. For those who like staying in natural surroundings, accommodation is available in private apartments and campsites, right on the coast. There are also several diving centres here and the Vrana freshwater lake is the island’s natural phenomenon. Lubenice, Osor, Beli and Cres are idyllic places for fans of rural and medieval architecture, eco-projects and interesting festivals. The island is also a sailor’s paradise - regattas are held here every year - including the World, European, Mediterranean, Croatian and Adriatic Championships. Cres is the chance for you to experience true nature!

Fantastic

We stayed for 3 nights in a mobile home in camp Kovacine. The camp's location is fantastic, on the seafront with easy access to numerous pebbly beaches with fantastic clean bathing water. It's also a very pleasant 20-minute stroll along the promenade to the lovely town of Cres. I would recommend hiring a car for exploring this stunning island, and I wouldn't hesitate in returning for a longer stay in future.

10 night stay on Cres island

We had a 10 night stay in a camp Medveja. Medveja beach is only a Minute from the campsite. It's very clean and civilised. The sea is beautifully clean, blue and quite warm in august. We loved this area of Croatia. There's lots to do and it's a 20 minute car journey to Brestova to catch the ferry to the amazing island of Cres.

Beautiful place called Beli on island Cres

We came to Beli for scuba diving and discovered this super nice place to stay called Pansion Tramontana. The rooms are so cute and well decorated, the whole house was given lots of love and care and the food was so good. The town of Beli is the place to be on Cres island if you don't like crowded places and prefer a little town on the top of a hill with a cosy little beach underneath. Lots of spirit with a homy feel. The owners are very nice and helpful, they have a boat and will take you on picnics in a nearby secluded beach in a nice bay called "La plaza". If you want to experience true local beauties with a artistic touch you have to come to this place.

Beautiful mediterranean island

We went for a week on the island of Cres expecting the usual seaside town, instead we found a beautiful mediterranean island perfect for the whole family and friends. Great little restaurants (we ate fresh fish every nights), great big blue sea (swimming with fish, blue lagoon, extremely clean), fishing villages with lovely history and marinas and on top of that the weather was fantastic. We'll definitely be back soon.
