Ilok
With its beautiful vineyards, this town is a wine kingdom. In attractive old cellars of the Odescalchi Castle, people can taste the wine and other homemade treats.
Gewürztraminer, Welschriesling, Pinot white, Chardonnay and Riesling have been a part of the offer of many world wine stores, as well as of the English Court, since the 19th century.

Beautiful Vineyards
Ilok is having the best soil for vineyards in Europe with lot of awards granted in past decade so make sure you explore this little heaven called Principovac Country Estate. In the building itself make sure you go upstairs which is especially made to admire nice views of vineyards and Ilok and on a clear day you can see very far (bring binoculars). Also, make sure you visit Castle Odescalchi-Museum of Ilok. This is most preserved medieval castle in the 100 km radius for sure and well worth to visit it. Right in the centre of Ilok fortress overlooking the Danube. There are many things to see. Museum of town Ilok is in the castle with its archeological, medieval, ethno section as well as gallery. Next to the castle is the famous and well known Ilok wine cellars. It is an absolute must when you are in this region.
Royal town Ilok
If you will ever go to visit Croatia, you have to visit Eastern Slavonia and the easternmost old Croatian royal town Ilok. It is a beautiful place on the river Dunav surrounded by vineyards. The small family hotel Pansion Iva is a great place to stay for day or two. I liked home made breakfast and friendly people. The place is full of flowers, clean and very nice.
Beautiful
Ilok fortress is dominating above town. It is very easy to find and near bay is free public parking. Inside fortress is Ilok town museum with interesting pieces from medieval history of region. During our visit there was not a lots of tourist so it is possible to fully enjoy museum.
