Bring good walking shoes
The quiet is broken by a strange sound-a mason hand cutting stone, and I am no longer lost in deep thought while gazing out over the surrounding countryside and waterways.The walls were built mostly by local master masons and in the early 60's restoration was begun to repair them to their former glory. this work is very time consuming because the current masons are using the original methods so that the restored walls will be authentic.
