Motovun
Motovun is a town of rich historical heritage in which each stone has its own story has been an attractive and popular tourist destination for a many years. This medieval Istrian town is situated on a hill with a view of the river Mirna valley. Numerous events are held in Motovun (the Motovun Film Festival), also interesting for those who love flying hot air balloons as the favourable micro-climate makes flying possible throughout the year. The park-forest Motovunska šuma (the Motovun Forest) is the most famous place for truffles, an exceptionally appreciated mushroom which grows underground. Also, noble varieties are grown in Motovun vineyards.

fabulous little town

Motovun is a beautiful little hilltop town. There are many shops as you walk up the hill, especially those specializing in truffles. The area is famous for black and white truffles and olive oil. You can learn the process where the truffles are found by dogs. Also, they have very small bottles of olive oil flavored with truffles and truffle sauce and other delicacies for sale. The area on the top is easy to walk around with many steps, and the view is fabulous, at sunset magical. The atmosphere is lovely, definetely worth a day trip.

Amazing view!

It is a wonderful and picturesque little gem in the middle of Istria. The food is good, the wine great, souvenir shops nice. If you want to organize a romantic getaway this is the place you want to stay! Worth the drive and walk!
