Omišalj

Omišalj is a small coastal town in the north-west of the island of Krk in Croatia. It is the first town you encounter after you cross the bridge of Krk, and has a rich cultural heritage. The historical centre of this town is located at the top of the hill and filled with narrow cobbled streets and a series of compact houses. From the viewpoint, there is a beautiful view of Omišalj bay, which is suitable for all types of sailing and rowing regattas. The beaches will tempt you to do some sunbathing and to go for a swim in the clear warm sea. After a good dinner in a tavern or restaurant you can enjoy the a'cappella music, folklore performances, good theatre or simply some dancing at the fishermen's evening. Anyone who finds themselves in Omišalj at the time of the Assumption of the Virgin can enjoy Stomorin, a popular name for a folk tradition, which includes many secular and religious events.
