Pirovac

Pirovac
Pirovac is a medieval settlement and fortification of the oldest croatian nobelmen, tradition of mediterranean agriculture as well as touristic climatic and recreational center. It is situated in a bay characterized by an unusual fact that the sea temperature within it is 4 degrees higher than the rest of the Adriatic Sea. The old part of the town on the coast with its medieval walls and „The Gates of the village“ are one of the most interesting symbols of Pirovac.

Half a star is too high

As the title says, even half a star is too much for this place.
Most of the locals are just looking to get into your pocket and wallet by any means necessary. Good luck if you speak a foreign language as there is apparently an unwritten and unannounced foreigner tax. To be fair still a bit better than the treatment non local Croats receive. Hiking up prices when it is too late to back out (like already arriving at the place you rented) is apparently a celebrated tradition.
While on the topic of high, most of the under 45 year old crowd is apparently in astronaut training because that is the only way to explain the heights they are achieving. Drugs are rampant and local authorities don't bother with resolving that issue. The result is a hyper aggressive crowd that is willing to jump anyone from behind (like real heroes do) if you dare to do anything that displeases them (list will be provided at the end).
If you're ever wondering how it looks when evolution takes a wrong turn, well this is the place to explore.

Speaking of local authorities, to say that they are useless would be an insult to those who actually are useless. They should strive to achieve such a lofty goal.

Now as mentioned the list of what displeases the locals:
- race - be anything except chalk white
- religion - be anything except the local superstition (it isn't even Catholicism any more)
- sexual orientation - good luck because observing the locals there is no understanding what they support and what they are suppressing, though it is mostly the men curiously enough
- political views - quite tricky because while on the surface most are slights to the right, in practice flip flop as it suits their current situation and/or mood
- nationality - no matter what you are, it is only tolerated as deep as your wallet is. To be fair Germanic and Slavic nations seem to be on the receiving end of fewer slurs

While this review might sound overly negative, I've heard multiple times of locals referring to people from across the road as inbreeds and lesser beings because they are on the "wrong" side of the road.
