Vižinada

Vižinada is a village and municipality in the interior of the western part of Istria, Croatia. It is 17 km northeast of Poreč, with an elevation of 40 m. It is a not to be missed town because from its populated hills there are wonderful views of the green (land) and blue (sea) Istria. Here one’s eyes are filled by beautiful scenes of the surrounding landscape, particularly of the Mirna river valley. This truth appears to go back far into history because it contains the shrine of Božje polje, and the high standing church of sv. Marija [St. Mary] from the 15th century. The smell of cake, which spreads around the cobbled streets during the event Sweet Istria, returns us to past times.
