International Folklore Festival (Zagreb)

The International Folklore Festival derives from the beautiful Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It is taking place in Zagreb for five days. With its obvious Mediterranean heritage and influence, the sound and dance form primarily consists of chain dancing and dancing with swords; with Linđo being the most famous dance of this Croatian region.

The folk dance and musical heritage is marked by relationships with the wider Mediterranean and Central European cultural circles, through which cultural events of different origin and age entered this area and, while changing over time, maintained their presence to this day.
