Kamačnik (Vrbovsko)
With its breathtaking scenery, Kamačnik has been the focus of tourist attention for many years. A walking trail, wooden bridges and galleries were made in 1961. A famous Croatian mountaineer and writer Željko Poljak in his book "Croatian mountains" describes Kamačnik as a "gorge filled with wild romance". Kamačnik cut its gorge into the Velika Kapela massive. It cascades down the river Dobra since it was at its entrance turned into a lake by a dam. The Kamačnik spring is of typical karst type - the water appears from the underground caves. Tourist facility "Kamačnik" is situated at the mouth of the river, offering visitors a resting place and local dishes. Throughout the year it provides various forms of entertainment. You can arrive to the river-mouth itself both by car or bus. Also, the railway station is only 50 metres away. Kamačnik is an ideal destination for an activity holiday- nature walks, picnics etc.
