Fritule
Fritule are a festive Croatian pastry which are traditionally prepared in Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia. They are usually made in days of fasting, Christmas Eve and during carnival. Fritule can be prepared from dough with yeast or pieces of thicker batter with baking powder. They are usually flavored with rum and citrus zest, containing raisins, and are topped with powdered sugar.
