Istarska jota
The Istrian stew or jota is a very popular dish in Istria and some other parts of north-western Croatia. The main ingredients of jota are beans, sauerkraut or sour turnip, potatoes, bacon, spare ribs and the main seasoning is garlic. As it is traditionally prepared in winter time of year it is often called winter manestra.
