Languši, also known as Langoši, Mekike, Lepinje, Poderane gaće, is a traditional dish in Međimurje. Languši is the specific name for a particular variety of fried bread made of a yeast dough. The dish acquires an irregular, bubbly appearance from being fried. It can be sprinkled with a variety of toppings, such as granulated sugar, powdered sugar, ajvar, tartar sauce, sour cream, garlic butter or chocolate. The food associated with outdoor food stands in carnivals, amusement parks, fairs and seaside resorts.
