Žganci, known as pura on the Croatian coast, is a traditional dish in Croatian cuisine. It is an old and well known meal in almost all Croatian regions. It's made from maize flour, water, cooking oil and salt, which is cooked for fifteen minutes on a low boil. Žganci can be served with milk, honey, cracklings, runny yogurt or fried onions. A savory version is served with meat as part of a main dish.
